Top 10 Most Beautiful Anime Openings (Intro Soundtrack)
Anime intro songs, also called openings, are often iconic for the given show because people hear these songs at the beginning of almost every episode. No wonder that they are often called anime themes. I think I am not the only anime fan who, after hearing the shortened version of a cool song used as an anime opening, immediately looks for the full version. Some are really iconic and became legends in the anime world. Every anime fan knows Cruel Angel's Thesis from Evangelion, the western version of the original Pokémon Theme sung by Jason Paige, the pure epicness condensed into an Attack on Titan Guren no Yumiya opening or the famous openings by Lisa for Demon Slayer or Sword Art Online. But I don't want to talk about these iconic ones in this article. Let's discover some less known, yet beautiful ones!

10. Heike Monogatari - Hitsujibungaku: Hikaru Toki
An alternative rock song used as an opening for a historical anime about an ancient Japanese clan who once ruled the nation. The song is somewhat unique with changes of the slow and faster parts and an distinct voice of the main singer.
9. Naruto Shippuuden - FLOW: Sign
Yea, yea, I know, no iconic ones. But c'mon, I had to mention at least one from Naruto! When someone mentions Naruto openings I always recall either Heroes Come Back by Nobodyknows which is a cool hip-hop rap track or Sign. If you like this one, don't miss the slow-paced piano-ballad version they also made.
8. Violet Evergarden - TRUE: Sincerely
Very nice energic, peaceful, heartwarming melody accompanying this visually astonishing anime.
7. Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen - Suara: Fuantei na Kamisama
Very nice fast-paced generic song accompanying the quite deep post-apocalyptic fantasy anime. The song has an Asian feel but is sung in a modern style. Quite an inspirational one.
6. Elfen Lied - MOKA: Lilium
One simply cannot avoid mentioning this one. Quite famous some time ago, but I guess not many people know it today. This unique hymn-like song with the Biblical lyrics from Psalms. Enjoy the beautiful female vocal performance!
5. Akatsuki no Yona - Kunihiko Ryo: Main Theme
This is quite an interesting one because it is purely instrumental and it is also the main theme of the anime OST. Usually openings are separated and sometimes a little bit referenced in the OST but this one is fully integrated in the anime. It is a nice mix of the western and Asian style.
4. Broken Blade - Kokia: Fate
Kokia is well known for her angelic voice and quite original melodies. Definitely always a soothing experience listening to her songs.
3. Psycho Pass - Ling Tosite Sigure: abnormalize
If you like rock music style and enjoyed the unique high-pitched voice of TK who sang the legendary Tokyo Ghoul opening Unravel, then you will definitely love this one.
2. Bokurano - Chiaki Ishikawa: Uninstall
This anime is about giant mecha robots, but it is not what you would expect. A bunch of kids are about to control the robot and fight some enemies, but at a high cost! Anyway, this opening is one of these songs that sound quite cheerful, but accompany quite a dark and serious anime. The melody stays in your head forever.
1. Kemono no Souja Erin - Sukima Switch: Shizuku
This ballad song has a memorable melody and sounds uplifting, happy, but not overly excited. It just creates the right atmosphere for the very interesting fantasy anime about a little girl who became a keeper of legendary dragon-like animals. This song well expresses the main ideas of the anime regarding harmony with nature and freedom in life. I was quite astonished when I heard the female version of the song by Chitose Hajime that was used as the second opening of this anime.
