Top 10 Most Beautiful Anime Soundtracks

I have watched many anime and music is an important element of each show. Here I would like to share my favorite anime songs that I just think are true masterpieces. Music is also one of the reasons why I prefer anime over manga. To be honest, it is really hard to select just a few songs. Anime is full of really wonderful music! My playlist that I listen to when working or relaxing contains about a half of the songs from anime shows. Anyway, I tried to pick my favorite and not that extremely known pieces to share here.

Music is one of these additional dynamic elements that make anime more alive than manga.

10. Naruto Shippuuden - Guren

Naruto contains a lot of beautiful music composed by Yasuharu Takanashi. This one comes from a filler arc and is surprisingly good. A little sad and emotional, yet peaceful and calming.

9. Star Wars Visions - Children of Magina

This is not from any legendary classic anime but from quite an experimental and modern anime adaptation of stories from Star Wars universe. This song composed by Kevin Penkin, however, is very unique and resembles a bit the style of the legendary Ghost in the Shell OST like songs by Origa. The music sounds just ethereal!

8. Mahotsukai no Yome - Iruna Etelero

When I heard this song in the Ancient Magus Bride anime, my heart stopped! This song, sung by Daichi Takenaka, was present only in one episode as a background music but it immediately became one of my favorite anime songs! It is peaceful and also very energetic. The melody is a bit repetitive but it never gets old!

7. Natsume Yuujinchou - Aishiteru

This anime is not abotu heroes or epic fights. It's just a peaceful fantasy about youkai, the Shinto deities appearing in this world, causing trouble or helping people. The ending sung by Kourin is a lovely and peaceful song that warms the heart.

6. Guren Lagann - Libera Me from Hell

One of the most motivational anime and songs ever created! Not everyone loves rap songs but this one is really full of power and contains also opera parts. Tengen Toppa Guren Lagann is a legendary anime and this song kind of describes the whole show! Just fight the power!

5. Elfen Lied - Lilium

This brilliant song, resembling opera, accompanied the dark and a bit gory anime Elfen Lied. The contrast between the bloody sad story and this peaceful song created a really unique atmosphere to the anime.

4. Bokurano - Uninstall

I wanted to include at least one opening in this list. At first I wanted to place Cruel Angel's Thesis from Neon Genesis Evangelion here as it is my favorite anime and my favorite opening, but I decided to mention Bokurano OP instead. I like this opening and I also believe that it is not that well known amongst anime fans. It is a really cool melody sung by Chiaki Ishikawa.

3. Sword Of The Stranger - Ihojin No Yaiba

This anime has one of the most memorable fight choreographers and also songs. This battle theme played during the final fight of this anime and is a great motivational and epic song full of energy.

2. Re:Zero - Requiem for Silence

This song played at the end of one of the most emotional episodes of anime Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu. It resembles a lot classical pieces in many ways and is truly a beautiful sad song composed by Suehiro Kenichiro. This song is a great anime gift for fans of classical orchestral music.

1. Shingeki no Kyojin - To You 2000..or..20000 Years From Now

This song concludes the whole Attack on Titan anime as well as this list. It is a nice ending again created by Revo and his band Linked Horizon who made the phenomenal iconic openings, including the first, most popular, Guren no Yumiya. I was really happy to hear them again at the very end of the show. Linked Horizon just belongs to Attack on Titan. This last song brought back memories as it contained a lot of elements from previous tracks which played in the show. It contains both lovely and peaceful parts and also energetic powerful passages. Another epic thing is that the beginning is sung by the voice actor of one of the main characters, Yui Ishikawa, who voiced Mikasa Ackerman.

If you have another favorite anime song, let me know in the comments. I know there are many other songs that are really nice but I wanted to share my top picks without making the list too long. Of course I also love Ghibli movies and songs by Joe Hisaishi. I also need to mention the great modern anime composer Hiroyuki Sawano who created so many powerful soundtracks. Also, music of Fate series like Fate/Zero or Fate/Stay Night or Sword Art Online are incredibly epic!
